About Tosynch

Most social apps are designed to keep you scrolling. Tosynch is designed to get you off your phone and into real conversation with someone you care about.

I built Tosynch because staying close to friends had quietly become harder than it should be — not because we don't care, but because the tools we use for keeping in touch, are built to capture attention, not to get people together.

The apps out there that focus on reducing phone or screen usage miss the key point. We don't need another app to manage our screen time — we need to create space for interactions that are device-free, and actually encourage them. As more and more of our interactions move to chat interfaces (Slack, WhatsApp, Discord, feeds, tweets), there's hardly any time or energy left for the real conversations, with the people who matter to us.

So Tosynch works differently, on purpose:

No feed. There's nothing to scroll, nothing to perform for.

No discovery, no public profiles. You can't browse strangers here, and strangers can't browse you. Your circle grows only when you invite someone or accept an invite. This isn't a missing feature — it's the whole idea.

No attention economy. We don't sell ads, and we never will. Ideally you open the app, make a plan, and close it.

What it does: helps you and your friends actually meet up. Propose a time, they pick what works, it lands on both your calendars. Set up a recurring catch-up and get a gentle nudge when it's time. That's it.

Tosynch is built and run by one person. It's early, it's honest, and it's made for people who'd rather see their friends than watch a feed.

The app that wants you to put your phone down.
